Mets Totally Stole The Best Piece From The Yankees Coaching Staff....Also Players They Need To Sign

Who the Fuck is Carlos Mendoza?!?! He is the New York Mets 24th Manager in their 62 year history, and some people are saying is possibly the best one yet...that's just what people are saying that's not coming from me. Every World Series Manager at some point was a first time manager, the one thing we have going for us is the Buck Showalter Effect where the next manager after him wins the World Series (or at least is "The Guy") so let's hope this trend keeps going. Aaron Boone has given his stamp of approval which scares me because he sucks as a Manager, but maybe he was happy to get him out because he is that good and a threat to his job. This is where being a Mets fan is hard, but we as a fanbase have to trust Uncle Stevie and his new President of Baseball Operations David Stearns who Cohen has had his eye on since taking over in Queens. It's the fear of the unknown but we can't really judge the decision until we see how it shapes up.

Now, who do the Mets have to go after this offseason? I have a few names on my wish list and it starts with Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

This should be the Mets #1 priority this offseason, with a record of 70-29 a 1.82 era and 922 K's in 897 IP and has been said by scouts to be one of the best to come over from Japan.

With the success that Senga had with the Mets last season that shouldn't scare Cohen and Stearns from pursuing the top FA arm this offseason, not to mention Kodai Senga letting upper management know he wants Yamamoto in Queens and in the same rotation so with his posting coming up within a week it will be a bidding war and we have more guns than you do.

Teoscar Hernández is a big bat that would fit very well in this lineup, Last years line was .258/26/93 and this team will need a DH but he can also play the OF to give you some flexibility. A shorter term deal would be ideal but if he is looking for more than 4 years then I would take my chances on who we have now, or you can look at cheaper options like Jesse Winker (who I think would be perfect on a team that he has such a fun friendly rivalry against) I think he would actually get back to his Cincinnati days if the Mets decide to go that route.

I'll leave this one short and sweet, The Mets MUST extend Pete Alonso, 45+ Hrs and 110 RBI guys don't grow on trees, GET IT DONE!!!!

Back to pitching, the bullpen without Edwin Diaz was God awful!!!!! So to fix that there are a few names out there, some names are familiar and won't cost a ton and also won't be looking for a very long term deal, a few of those names are David Robertson who did a really good job taking over for Edwin Diaz last season, he didn't do very well after he was traded to Miami but he didn't want to leave and it showed, but he can do another 1 year deal and shouldn't cost over $8m.

Liam Hendriks is a really intriguing option, after his battle with stage 4 non-Hodgkin's lymphoma he was making a comeback and now he's available, he is a perfect 1 year deal to re-establish himself and if he gets back to even close to his old self he can be a legit setup man for Diaz. Some other names to look at to fill the bullpen are Aroldis Chapman, Reynaldo López, Dylan Floro, Jordan Hicks, Shintaro Fujinami, Amir Garrett.

Last year was not a good one but the players sold off and the prospects they got back made it all worth it!!! Well...sorta, if these prospect like Luisangel Acuña, Drew Gilbert, Ryan Clifford are as good as advertised then i think the Mets are in very very good shape for this season and the foreseeable future.

Is it almost March yet?
