The WWE doesn't need CM Punk

Let's be real, until the clock hits approximately 11pm on Saturday November 25 and we know for sure if the Ultimate EgoManiac returned to WWE in Chicago at Survivor Series the rumors of his return are going to swirl. WWE has always been the land of "never say never" and "what's best for business". And we all know Punk's vow that he was done with wrestling ended when Tony Khan waved the bag in front of his face, and we see how well that worked out. I for one am hoping WWE learns from the mistake AEW made....AEW didn't need CM Punk, and neither does the WWE!!

When AEW started they made Chris Jericho their inaugural World Champion. Jericho used that spot to help get guys like Sammy Guevara over, help Jon Moxely become solidified as a Main Event star, and make guys like Kenny Omega and The Elite household names for the casual wrestling fan. CM Punk showed up in AEW for CM Punk. Sure in his initial babyface promos he talked about being excited to work with all the young, fresh talent. Yeah as long as he was the one calling the shots. Punk started the entire "Brawl Out" incident at All Out because of a promo Hangman Page cut on him and some backstage stuff with The Elite, because god forbid he could handle it with any sort of professionalism. You think he would have pulled that back in his first WWE run with guys like Undertaker & JBL in the locker room, no shot. He didn't think Kenny & The Bucks would come after him for it, and they did. And then he tried to kiss everyone's ass and come back, then got in a backstage fight over another on camera comment by Jungle Boy right before the biggest show in the company's history. Think he would have done that if Triple H said "real glass" into a camera, i don't. AEW's mistake was they wanted buzz, they have great talent like all the guys I mentioned, plus MJF, Adam Cole, Keith Lee, Bryan Danielson, and many others. They never needed CM Punk and Tony Khan realized it way too late.

From everything you hear and read Punk was a bully & a cancer in the AEW Locker Room, to the people he thought he could get away with it with. Why would WWE want a guy like that around all their young talent? Do you really want him around guys like Grayson Waller, Austin Theory, etc? The biggest tell is how vocal Seth Rollins, one of the few guys left who worked with Punk in WWE, can't stand him and doesn't want him back. Roman isn't a fan either, but we likely stay silent because he is the one bulletproof guy WWE CM Punk can't ruin if he came back.

It's November of 2023. At this point in time can anyone with the slightest clue tell me you'd rather see the WWE bring in CM Punk to a top spot in the company over Will Ospreay? Or tell me you wouldn't rather see Bron Breaker come up from NXT? I will honestly say if you'd rather see CM Punk over either of those guys you are out of your mind and living in the past.

Let's see what November 25, 2023 brings us....
