It's time to move on from Saquon

To say the NY Giants 1-5 start to the season is a disappointment is being far too kind. They look like a shell of the team that was the talk of the town just a year ago. The offense has 5 TD's thru 6 games and has looked like shit for all except maybe the 30 mins of the 2nd half of the lone win vs the Cardinals. Wink Martindale's defense is underperforming and over exposed. Special Teams, I would have fired the coach a month ago and that's being generous. They are failing in all aspects of the game. It's time to make a move for the long run and help start the turnaround this organization and it's fanbase needs.

Before the October 31 trade deadline the Giants need to accept the fact that they are gearing up for next year and beyond and trade Saquon Barkley. He is the most valuable and realistic trade piece on this team and now is the time to use it. He's back healthy after missing 3 games with a sprained ankle, and the team has far too many holes to franchise tag him again after this season. Barkley is the type of player a team looking for a RB as a final piece to a playoff run needs and will pay for. He will command a good enough return to help fill the needs on this roster, or give you the draft pick capital to move up for an impact player. Joe Schoen needs to step up and realize this is the move that could be his turning point. He has to be on the phone with teams like Baltimore , Cleveland, & Buffalo and tell them "You want to separate yourself from your competition, I got your guy!!" Start a god damn bidding war and get the maximum return value for a player who has no realistic future with this organization beyond this year. Baltimore & Cleveland are scrapping by at RB after injuries, Buffalo is doing everything they can not to commit to James Cook....any of these 3 teams plus more will surely be in on Barkley if you make it known he is available.

What's the negative to trading Barkley? NOTHING! You can watch him try and run behind this shit OL for the rest of the season in meaningless games, then likely leave for nothing. Or you can build the future you have promised your fans since Schoen & Daboll took over last year, and it starts for real with this move. It kills me as a Giants fan, and a Barkley fan, to say this but it is true. The Giants are in the drivers seat for once this season, they just have to be smart enough to grab the keys and start the friggin car.
