It's almost 2025, and the Yankees still won't let grown-ass men be themselves and show their personality, they'd rather keep control of them from February to October. In the offseason, most Yankees players grow their beards out because their Almighty owner doesn't have that control over them for the few months away from the field. I understand this was George's thing with Billy Martin, but it should have died when George did. These are Baseball players, not accountants, bankers, or lawyers and while they should always act professional they shouldn't have to be told they need a clean face and hair above the collar. You might as well have them play in a 3 piece suit, which I'm sure was probably discussed at one point.
Some guys could have benefited by this rule being abolished like Rougned Odor and Alex Verdugo, Holy shit was that not good for them!!!
Most Yankees fans agree with me, and some "Get off my Lawn" people do not, It used to be something to be a Yankee and "Donning the Pinstripes" so guys would cut their hair and shave their face, but this isn't those Yankees anymore and the "prestige" of being a Yankee is gone. Most of these players today weren't even born when the mid to late 90's dynasty team was winning so much so they don't give a shit about that. It's time to turn the page and get with the times and let the players be themselves!!!!! Don't be fucking downers!!!!
